Recitation and Song for October 29, 2017

Grades 5-6: Sola Scriptura! Sola Gratia! Sola Fidei! The Scriptures alone – the only foundation of Christian faith and belief; Grace alone – God’s undeserved love – the only source of God’s salvation; Faith Alone – The only way to receive Christ’s blessings of forgiveness and eternal life.

Grades 7-8: The Bible tells us – “Remember those who spoke the Word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:7-8) We remember and give thanks for Martin Luther and all the faithful down through the ages who have spoken the Word of God to us. Perhaps Luther’s greatest hymn of Reformation is based on Psalm 46:

All Sunday school children: “God is our refuge and Strength, a very present Help in trouble; Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the depth of the sea…. The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our Refuge.”… “If God be for us, who can be against us.”
