Week 29: Memory Work

Week 29: Jonah
Assign on May 7, 2017 & Recite on May 14, 2017

PreK – K
Grade 1-2
5th Petition – And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Grade 1-2 Mark 16:15 – Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.
Grade 3-4 1 Timothy 2:4 – God our Savior wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
Grade 3-4 5th Petition – And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

What does this mean?
We pray in this petition that our Father in heaven would not look upon our sins or because of them deny our prayers; for we are worthy of none of the things for which we ask, neither have we deserved them, but we ask that he would give them all to us by grace; for we daily sin much and surely deserve nothing but punishment. So we too will forgive from the heart and gladly do good to those who sin against us.

Week 29: The Prophet Daniel; The Three Men in the Fiery Furnace

Grade 5-8 Matthew 4:10 – Worship the Lord, your God and serve Him only.
Grade 5-8 John 10:27-28 – My sheep hear My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one shall snatch them out of my hand.
Grade 5-8 2nd Commandment – You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God.

What does this mean?

We should fear and love God that we do not use his name to curse, swear, lie or deceive, or use it superstitiously, but call upon God’s name in every trouble, pray, praise, and give thanks.

Grade 7-8 8th Commandment – You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

What does this mean?

We should fear and love God that we do not tell lies about our neighbor, betray him, or give him a bad name, but defend him, speak well of him, and take his words and actions in the kindest possible way.
