Week 28: Elijah and Elisha
Assign on April 30, 2017 & Recite on May 7, 2017

PreK – K
Grade 1-2
2nd Petition – Thy kingdom come.
Grade 1-2 Matthew 28:20 – Surely I am with you always, even to the very end of the world.
Grade 3-4 Matthew 18:20 – Where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there I am in the midst of them.
Grade 3-4 2nd Petition – Thy kingdom come.

What does this mean?
God’s kingdom certainly comes by itself even without our prayer, but we pray in this petition that it may come to us and to many others.

Week 28: Overthrow of the Kingdom of Israel; Hezekiah; The Babylonian Captivity
Assign on April 30, 2017 & Recite on May 7, 2017

Grade 5-8 James 5:16 – The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Grade 5-8 John 8:31-32 – If you hold to My Word, you are truly my disciples. And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.
Grade 5-6 Baptism 3 – It is certainly not the water that does such things, but God’s Word which is in and with the water, and faith which trusts this Word used with the water. For without God’s Word the water is just plain water and not baptism.  But with this Word it is baptism. God’s Word makes it a washing through which God graciously forgives our sin and grants us rebirth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
Grade 7-8 Baptism 3 – It is certainly not the water that does such things, but God’s Word which is in and with the water, and faith which trusts this Word used with the water. For without God’s Word the water is just plain water and not baptism.  But with this Word it is baptism. God’s Word makes it a washing through which God graciously forgives our sin and grants us rebirth and new life through the Holy Spirit.

Where is this written?
St. Paul says in Titus, chapter 3, “God saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying.”
