Week 15: The Giving of the Law
Assign on January 22, 2017 & Recite on January 29, 2017

PreK – K
Grade 1-2
6th Petition – And lead us not into temptation.

Grade 1-2 Leviticus 19:2 – Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.
Grade 3-4 James 2:10 – For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
Grade 3-4 6th Petition – And lead us not into temptation.

What does this mean? God surely tempts no one to sin, but we pray in this petition that God would guard and keep us, so that the devil, the world, and our flesh may not deceive us or lead us into false belief, despair, and other great and shameful sins; and though we are tempted by them, we pray that we may overcome and win the victory.
